Bristol Plays Music’s flagship Choral Centre takes place at Music Centre West in Southmead on Friday evenings, for boys in years 8 – 11, and is the home to the Bristol Youth Choir. Led by a wonderful team of choral leaders and singing teachers, the choir develops singers from the age of 7.
Led by the well known soloist and singing teacher Martin Le Poidevin, the Senior Boys’ Ensemble explores close harmony, barbershop and other male musical styles.
Members regularly join together to perform at events across the city, the Bristol Youth Choir also has the prestigious position of being one of Colston Hall’s Young Companies in Residence.

On Wednesday 23 September 2020 Colston Hall changed its name to Bristol Beacon, and this means we’re changing too.
Bristol Plays Music is run by Bristol Music Trust, the charity that also runs the venue formerly known as Colston Hall. These two organisations will soon unite under one name: Bristol Beacon.
