Secondary Curriculum – Wallace and Gromit’s Film Music Unit

Created in partnership with Aardman Animations, Wallace and Gromit’s Film Music Unit is a packed creative project for KS3 students. Beginning with a whole-class performance task, the students analyse the way music is used with film and through capsule lessons can explore in detail some of the key techniques used. The students then work with authentic storyboards, materials, documentary footage and video clips from Wallace and Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death to create their own amazing soundtracks. The project is fully resourced, with complete lesson plans, an extensive powerpoint presentation, assessment materials and more.

We’re changing

On Wednesday 23 September 2020 Colston Hall changed its name to Bristol Beacon, and this means we’re changing too.

Bristol Plays Music is run by Bristol Music Trust, the charity that also runs the venue formerly known as Colston Hall. These two organisations will soon unite under one name: Bristol Beacon.

Click below to find out more about how we’re changing, watch our name announcement, and discover how we want everyone to share in the joy of live music.
