We’re delighted to lend our support to The Self-Isolation Choir, which has been created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic; formed by choral singers for choral singers who are keen to continue singing together.
The Choir will raise funds to help fight the virus and assist those in the choral world whose livelihood has been devastated by recent events. Around 3,000 choral singers from 50 countries worldwide are already learning the magnificent and uplifting Messiah together.
The Self-Isolation Choir comes together remotely for regular online rehearsal sessions, which will culminate in a joyful virtual performance of Messiah at Home on Sunday 31st May 2020, accompanied by a specially home-recorded orchestra of professional instrumentalists and soloists.
Led by Colston Hall and Bristol Plays Music associate, choir-leader and music educator Ben England.
On Wednesday 23 September 2020 Colston Hall changed its name to Bristol Beacon, and this means we’re changing too.
Bristol Plays Music is run by Bristol Music Trust, the charity that also runs the venue formerly known as Colston Hall. These two organisations will soon unite under one name: Bristol Beacon.
