Colston Hall provides a platform for creativity and performance through the Listen-Create-Perform programme of concerts, festivals and events for children and young people.
The programme provides a platform for schools, cultural and community organisations at Colston Hall and reaches over 20,000 young people each year. Being based at a major concert venue this enables us to present truly world class artists in masterclass and concert in a range of educational settings to children and young people. Recently, BPM presented artists including guitarist Miloš Karadaglić, drum ‘n’ bass superstar Goldie, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the British Paraorchestra. These events are free to participants. In addition, BPM tours this as an outreach programme in schools around the city to ensure a fair coverage.
On Wednesday 23 September 2020 Colston Hall changed its name to Bristol Beacon, and this means we’re changing too.
Bristol Plays Music is run by Bristol Music Trust, the charity that also runs the venue formerly known as Colston Hall. These two organisations will soon unite under one name: Bristol Beacon.
